In 1986, the Lambert family consulted parapsychologist Elise Rainier after young Josh began seeing terrifying ghosts, and Elise discovered that he had a dangerous ability for astral projection that allowed him to enter “The Further.” She tried to protect him by suppressing his memories. Years later, after Josh, his wife Renai, and their children moved to a new house, the supernatural phenomena returned more violently, especially after Elise’s death and the appearance of the “Black Bride” spirit, which turned out to be the spirit of serial killer Parker Crane, possessed by his evil mother’s spirit. As Josh’s condition deteriorated and the spirits took control of him, Dalton was forced to enter “The Further” to save his father, and the film continues in an atmosphere charged with psychological horror.
