Kaslan Corporation was producing smart dolls called “Buddi” that learn from their environment and act based on what they see, but due to a factory error in Vietnam and the disabling of safety systems, a defective version was shipped and appeared in Chicago with Karen Barclay and her son Andy, naming itself “Chucky.” At first, it behaved like a friend and helped Andy, but over time it began to show violent behavior and committed horrific crimes, including killing people and causing chaos in the city, while the police suspected Andy. In the end, Andy and his mother were able to confront Chucky and help destroy it, but the final scene reveals that another version of the doll has activated and its eyes turned red, meaning the danger is not over yet.
